A wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Linda Costa is loved by many. She is active in the local community and particularly enjoys cooking and being with her family. As her grandchildren, we ask you to consider helping her to secure a kidney transplant.
About Linda
Diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes as a child, Linda continues to manage the effects of the disease. Today, she is facing significant kidney disease and, ultimately, kidney failure. In short, our grandmother needs a kidney transplant.
What You Can Do
Like Linda, there are many seeking kidney transplants. She is working with Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), which is now aligned with Jefferson Health. She is seeking a kidney donor through the Kidney Donor Paired program. We encourage anyone interested in helping Linda to complete the Living Donor Online Referral Form. Prospective donors can also initiate the living donor process by calling 610-402-8565. Be sure to include “Linda Costa” when asked if you want to donate to a specific person.
Nearly one-quarter of live donor transplants now come from donors who are not blood relatives. Due to the shortage of available organs and the successful outcomes following organ transplants from living donors, the LVHN/Jefferson Transplant team encourages transplants between spouses, friends, and even strangers.
